-------------The idea of a library at Fraser’s Hill was first initiated in 2010 by a small group of friends, principally Zubaidah Ibrahim and Michael T. Sebastian, who thought that such a project would make it possible for them to ‘give back’ to society.
A committee was formed which proposed a scheme to the Fraser’s Hill Development Corporation (PKBF) in late 2010 who finally agreed to provide the project with the present location, free electricity and internet access.
The official launch took place on 12 th April 2015 and on 30th December the same year the Library achieved official status as a non-governmental, charitable Organization: The Frasers Hill Community Library Association: Persatuan Perpustakaan Komuniti Bukit Fraser (PPM-005- 06-30122015).
It is governed by its Constitution (available for viewing by members on request) and regulated by its General Rules and Regulations which are based on local and international good practice.
The need for a Library in Fraser’s Hill has been borne out in the number of visitors – both local adults and children, and from outside the area - a total of more than 15,000 from all over Malaysia and 34 different countries at the last count of December 2016.
